I love Tuscany for the same reason. Must be a Med thing. Had a mid-flight experience like you had once on a British Airways Airbus flight back to the States. Engine blew and pilot said "no problem" in a very reassuring Brit accent, that they could continue, but rules were to return to Heathrow. And like you, i don't mind these things--if I've had wine, though--but on this occasion a lady from Philly kept wailing and intermittently shrieking, "We're going to die. Jesus, please help us!"
