Bibliofemme Short Story competition shortlist
The shortlist for the inaugural Bibliofemme short story competition has finally been announced. Myself and a couple of the femmes had the initial task of trying to whittle down the large number of entries to 20. These were then passed on to Alison Walsh, the Commissioning Editor for Irish imprint Tivoli who no doubt had a tough job in halving that list.
I was particularly impressed by Innocence and First Bloom, and to discover that Hen Night was actually written by a man. Don’t take my word for it - make up your own mind on all the shortlisted stories, which are online and you can vote for your favourite.
The judges - authors Brian Keenan, Peter Sheridan and Kate Thompson - will make a decision on the winners next month.
