The Elegant Variation and Banville

As I’d mentioned last week, The Elegant Variation’s lengthy interview with John Banville was so good, I started dreaming about John Banville. I don’t feel so bad, because Mish confessed to a similar nocturnal experience about the Irish writer. The interview is a broad overview of Banville’s writing, his processes, contemporaries, identity and his current Booker shortlisted novel, The Sea.

So I’m delighted to see that part three has been added. Read parts One and two first though.

Mark Savros of The Elegant Variation is a self-confessed Banville obsessive but the blog itself is one of the best literary blogs on the web.

I’ve also heard that Dubray books on Grafton Street are selling hard back (First Edition) signed copies of The Sea for 19.99.

I’ve never read Banville, but Mark Savros’ interviews and comments have shown me what I’m missing . I’ve not only ordered the book, but I’m convinced Banville’s going to win the Booker.
