Well I blogged about Booker Longlist, now here’s the final six - Zadie Smith, Ali Smith,

10 Things I’d do if I was Brian Kerr

Thursday, September 8th, 2005

1. Find a new striker NOW. Clinton Morrison is not World class and was incompetent and useless last night. He never looked like scoring. He never looks like doing anything. One of his two ‘attempts’ on goal was actually a total miskick when shown in the replay.
2. Clone Roy Keane - it looked […]

Michael Moore on Katrina

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

Bush’s many detractors haven’t wasted a moment in dissing him over the response to the New Orleans disaster, but I wondered how long it would take Michael Moore to surface. As it happens, it took a few days - almost as long as the Bush administration took in acting on the disaster - for him […]

Too. Much.Work. And a milestone…

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

It always seems to happen. Just when you’re down-sizing your workload to go away, a heap of stuff comes up. All of it good, mind, but I’m as busy as a nineteenth century chimney sweep so no time to blog in any great detail today. I also had to pass on contributing to round two […]

I heard from someone who […]

Entitled ‘Beloved Enemy’, the film stars Merle […]

Village - Right on Fitt, wrong on football

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

Someone passed on the current issue of Village to me this morning and I spotted something which looks like a glaring omission (well, to me and anyone who likes football that is). On page 44 of the magazine, at the end of the Sports section, there is a digest/table of sporting events for the […]

The Return of Kate Bush

Thursday, September 1st, 2005

Oh happy day. According to the lovely Pete from EMI, a new Kate Bush double album is on the way. Entitled ‘Aerial’ it will be released on November 7th and is preceeded by a single, ‘King of the Mountain’, on October 24th. She is notoriously guarded about her private life so there’s no official […]
