RTE can damage your car
I was all set to blog something about airport security prompted by Damien who points out the farcical security at the Dublin airport - and all for the love of getting a domestic flight. I was going mention that I’m flying to London ridiculously early in the morning for work, so as well as being tired, cranky and caffeine-less, I’ll have this security hoop-la to look forward to early AM.
In the interim, I experienced my first car crash today so the urge to rant has left me. Just as I was driving out of the RTE gates, a taxi driver crashed straight into me. We’re both fine (I’m a bit shaken) but I think I’m looking at a hefty bill whether it goes through my insurance or not. Between my wallet being stolen last weekend (and being pleasantly returned in the post today) I have decided to take a Karmic approach to the whole thing and look at the sense of equilibrium being restored by tomorrow:
Wednesday: Something bad happens - Car crash in the rain - only thing hurt is my wallet
Thursday: Something good happens - Interviewing Jack Black and Adrien Brody in London about King Kong.
Talk to you on Friday.

Ooo sorry to hear about your crash - hope it was the taxi driver’s fault as well so his insurance will pay!

Yeah. Charlie Bird smashed up my friend’s car with an axe. What’s with that? Bloody RTE.

You mightn’t have to wait long Kevin, I hear Mr. Callely is after Charlie Bird’s car with an axe

Oh Sinead, sorry about the accident. Can’t wait to read your interviews.
Love both of those actors.

Adrien Brody really does have a very big nose though, doesn’t he? Maybe I’m just jealous of the way he got to extract Halle Berry’s tonsils with his tongue when he got the Oscar. And Kevin, Sharon ni Bheolain did some serious damage to my Hummer’s paintwork with her keys one frosty morning not too long ago, so I share your friend’s pain over the Charlie Bird incident. This epidemic of RTE- related car damaging has got to stop, its potentially more threatening than bird flu

You braggart - nice interview to get, though. V jealous. Where’s it gonna appear?

Honestly, it was my cheer myself up post - in an eight day period culminating on Sunday last, I had my wallet stolen, then returned, a taxi driver crashed into my car but I’m liable, water is linking into the foundations of the recording studio my other half is building and poor Disco Fred got hit by a car (just a clip, he’s ok, but was all trembly and upset afterwards).
It appeared yesterday on television on RTE’s TTV. It was an on-camera interview, my first ever, so it was a bit nerve-wracking.

Forgive the shameless mention, but I never usually mention when I’m on TV or radio.

Well you should - congrats, that sounds like fun.
