Sigla Interview and Review Archive

I’m currently moving some of the author interviews, music interviews and album, book and film reviews from sigla which can be found here in the relevant categories on the right. Anything that predates the blog will be moved to the March 2005 archives, when the blog began.

I came across something which is older than the blog archive and thought that as I’m about to start the John Peel book for Christmas from my brother, I’d re-post it here. It’s a small appreciation of the man himself I penned after his death.

I stopped by here earlier and its looking good! I have been toying with the idea of moving away from blogspot but havent a clue where to begin.

Note to self - must investigate further.

Thats one thing about blogging, what I have learnt technology wise. I’ve never been a technophobe but I have learnt more in the last six months doing this than particular courses have given me.

Regarding your new address I feel like someone who has come to a dinner party with their arms the same length! So I will offer my heartiest wishes of luck for you with your new url.

    XxX

I’ll drop you a mail about the whole moving blog thing but if a technically deficient luddite like me can do it, you’ll be fine. You have lots of fancy bells and whistles on your site so I thought you were a natural.

“I feel like someone who has come to a dinner party with their arms the same length!”

Even though I’m slightly baffled as to what this means, I like it. :)
Is it a long-standing turn of phrase or did you make it up?

Is it like “arriving with one arm as long as the other”, as in inappropriately failing to bring a gift for the hostess??

I did a FAS website course about 7 years ago so I can fumble a bit around with html and I love reading the techie blogs, though often I am just baffled about whats going on.

So any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks

And regarding the phrase I don’t know where it came from but it refers to coming empty handed, ie no wine, or even choccies! And considering you have just moved we should be bringing you url-warming pressies…
