Gushing speeches and fancy frocks?

Damien has finally announced the categories for the Irish Blog Awards and anyone wishing to vote for their favourite blogs can find out how to do so here.

The categories are as follows:

* Best Blogger
* Best Blog Post
* Most Humorous Post
* Best Photo Blog
* Best Fictional Piece in a Blog
* Best Arts and Culture Blog
* Best Political Blog
* Best Group Blog
* Best Comment/Commenter
* Best Personal Blog
* Best Use of the Irish Language in a Blog
* Best Contribution to the Irish Bloggersphere (Tech wise)

Yours truly is a judge in the Arts/Culture category but I intend to vote in all the other categories. Personally I’m looking forward to the champagne guzzling and general shenanigans that go on at these things.

Will post details of when and where the ‘ceremony’ will be when I get them from Mr. Mulley.

  1. United Irelander Says:

    You’ll be inundated with bribes very soon no doubt. ;)

  2. Sinead Says:

    Are you sure you wouldn’t be tempted to reconsider Damien’s offer and be a judge?

  3. Sinead Says:

    Goddamn I’m an overall judge but Mr. Mulley says I can vote until the shortlist point, after that, we’ve got to count ‘em all up.

    I am available for bribery by the way.

  4. United Irelander Says:

    I have got more time available but I don’t really think I could put the necessary effort into it. Actually I never intended on blogging as much as I have in recent days but it’s just so damn addictive…

  5. Damien Mulley Says:

    I’m going to have to create a pool of judges methinks in order to be fair as judges are getting nominated. 50 nomination mails so far.

  6. EWI Says:

    Who are the judges, by the way? I know I’m not the only one asking this, either.

  7. Sinead Says:

    Damien has put together a panel of judges who will then sort through the nominations, compile a shortlist and vote on winners. I know Gavin is a judge, as am I, but I’m not sure who else.

  8. Damien Mulley Says:

    I know I’m not the only one asking this, either.

    And that’s supposed to mean what exactly?

  9. EWI Says:

    Oh, I’m certain that I’ve read others wondering about how exactly this is going to bejudged (I’m not suggesting anything dodgy or untoward!)
