Electric Picnic - the rumoured line-up

Now, this may or may not be true, but there are murmurings over at thumped that this year’s Electric Picnic line-up will feature the following:

Gary Numan - Massive Attack - DJ Shadow - Anthony & The Johnsons - Groove Armada - Stereolab - Nurse With Wound - Morrissey - Pet Shop Boys - Basement Jaxx - New Order - NWA - 2 Live Crew - Autechre - The Orb - Mogwai - Art Brut - MF Doom - The New Pornographers - King Creosote - MIA - Suburban Kids With Biblical Names - U-Roy - The Redneck Manifesto - DJ Krush - Caustic PhleX - Destroyer - Fingathing - Husky Rescue - Deerhoof

Bet Paul is all excited, even if Broken Social Scene haven’t yet been named.

  1. Cahony Says:

No BSS I can handle if they serve up Shadow, Doom, Autechre, The Orb, Mogwai (although I’m going to see them in the Royal Albert Hall the week after EP anyways!), Art Brut, New Pornographers and Deerhoof.

That line up is shaping up extremly well so far. I’m hoping we’ll get extended stage times, less clashing and less having to watch half sets now that they have three days to play with.

  2. auds Says:

The New Pornographers - they’re so brilliant!

  3. Dolores Says:

  8. team nickname Says:

Oh My God, Pet Shop Boys, New Order and Morrissey. That would be the ultimate festival headliners at any festival!!!! Some other good bands there like New Pornographers, Antony and Johnsons, Massive Attack and I guess Gary Numan could be worth a look. Please, please, please be true…..

  9. Jack Says:

I recommend EVERYONE to see Fingathing if at all possible. Absolutely the best in the lineup.

  10. lucie Says:

Apparently MC Hammer is touring Europe in August, maybe he’ll drop into the picnic before he flys back to the states…

  13. Black Hole Says:

I hear Tiefschwarz are playing the EP, and from a pretty reliable source too. Probably the most bodytonic tent orientated stuff so far. Check it. Wouldnt be the most keen on the Orb playing, their latest stuff is so minimal and outright geeky (very unmusical)

  14. kev kahuna Says:

Massive attack, the orb, groove armada! im there! Best weekend of my life at last years one.Hope its not full of gougers this year and that we get the same kinda crowd as last. its missing a chemical bros or a primal scream, sumthing to getcha pumping, although come to think of it flaming lips were my highlight of last year! Prince was whispered about but think its bullshit.
Also heard about atomic houligans might be? Dont be put off by their name!there outstanding
