B for Blog Awards, V for Vendetta

vendetta

When I heard that there was an advance evening screening of V for Vendetta, I asked Clare Daly of Warner Brothers if she might consider donating a couple of passes for tomorrow night’s Blog Awards. Fair play to her, she has stumped up a pile of tickets to add to Damien’s spot prize list.

I saw the film last week and it’s definitely worth checking out, even if it’s just to see whether you agree with creator Alan Moore’s refusal to support it. I missed The Culture Show on BBC last night but they have an interview with the man himself.

The film opens here next Friday March 17th, but if you get lucky at the Blog Awards, you can see it this Monday before everyone else.

I was wondering where those tickets had come from! Thanks for organising that - a nice prize to win - I’ve been anticipating the film for a while and am just hoping Natalie Portman will be at the screening :-)

I read the comic series back in the mid-1980s, when it captured the mood of the times in Britain extremely well.

Any chance of a more detailed review?
