Rattlebag today: Chuck at Cúirt
For anyone (including Pete from Slugger) who didn’t make it to Cúirt in Galway last month, Rattlebag will be broadcasting a public interview with Chuck Palahniuk. He’s the author of Fight Club, Invisible Monsters and Haunted, a short story collection containing ‘Guts’, a story that usually gets them fainting in the aisles at readings (last faint count: 70+).
Wonder if the audio picked up the heckler shouting: “It’s shite! You’re nothing but an American cultural imperialist! Pure shite pornography!”
The show starts at 2.45pm today on RTE Radio 1. You can listen live and by this evening it will be archived so you can listen any time.

I read that story in The Guardian’s Weekend magazine some time last year. Gruesome, sure, but hardly faint-worthy. If they think that’s so disgusting, maybe we should send them to the Horn of Africa — then they’ll really see something.
