Flight 93 versus United 93 confusion
Last week a friend told me that they had seen Flight 93. When I asked if they’d been to the press show or seen it in the US, they told me they’d rented it in X-travision.
Hmmm. I thought wasn’t out until June but it seems I’m not alone in my confusion as Gavin made a similar mistake. However, I’m having problems leaving a comment on his blog as an irritating Firefox ad keeps popping up. Don’t get me wrong, Firefox floats my boat and I always use it at home, but I’m working in town this week so I’m slumming it with Internet Explorer.
The film Gavin’s referring to is a made-for-TV version (also 2006) called Flight 93. The version that had me all a quiver is Paul Greengrass’ United 93.
Just so you know, like.
And if that’s not enough 9/11 peril for you, we still have Oliver Stone’s take on events to come. World Trade Center - starring Nicolas Cage, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Mario Bello - is out later this year.
Update: Pesky Firefox ad is gone so left a comment over at Gavin’s.

I was testing the ad, it has been removed

Phew, thanks. I tried to leave a comment last week and I couldn’t either, because of it.
So is the TV version (Flight 93) worth seeing?

I actually did find it better than a TV version normally is, I’m not sure how it would compare to United 93 but on its own I thought it was well made.

I saw United 93 the other night. I thought it was incredible, extremely suspensful, provocative and moving. Have a review on my blog site

Oliver Stone & 9/11…together at last…
I shudder in dreadful anticipation of the horrors to come…
