Another great Autumn gig…

stoltzBefore giving in to the urge to post a mid-year music list, one of the earliest contenders as one of 2006’s finest albums was Kelley Stoltz for his very fine Below The Branches on Sub Pop.

It still gets regular rotation round these parts and I’ve just heard that Stoltz is finally making a trip to Dublin to play Crawdaddy on Wednesday September 27th.

The latter track also features on a new Sub Pop sampler due for release in Ireland on September 15th. Terminal Sales - Volume 2 follows its upstart sibling TS -V1 and it’s been on here all day today (it’s top stuff). You can’t beat a musical lucky bag from a decent label and TSV2 features tracks from Wolf Eyes, Cansei De Ser Sexy (does anyone not like their CSS album?), The Elected, Comets on Fire, The Thermals, Band of Horses (’The Great Salt Lake’, a stand-out track here), Oxford Collapse, Tall Birds and the excellently named Pissed Jeans. Also featured is ‘Always For You’ taken from the forthcoming Album Leaf album, Into The Blue Again a release I’ve been really looking forward to for ages.

That’s great news - must totter on down Crawdaddy way for that gig.

The Elected and Band of Horses are the only 2 bands I’ve heard from that sampler - and they’re very good.

Great stuff, hopefully it won’t sell out before I get tickets! Some of the BOH album is excellent alright especially Funeral. Did you pick up the Acquired Taste Sub Pop DVD from a couple of months back? It’s ubercheap and lovely incl a Album Leaf video iirc. I think Red Eye from the new Album Leaf is *stunning*
