Nominations open for The 2007 Irish Blog Awards
Damien has announced details of the 2007 Irish Blog Awards complete with DJ and Rick O’Shea as MC, who did a great job last year.
There are plenty of categories (all with fancy sponsors) and tons of people worth nominating, so if you feel like voting for The Sigla Blog in any relevant category, go to the nominations page. Apparently there will be a multiple entry form available later this week if you don’t fancy pressing the back button on your browser too often, regardless of who you’re voting for. I’m off to brush up on some of the categories I’m not so familiar with, so I can nominate as many blogs as possible.
Nominations close on Friday, January 26th at 11.59pm. Not sure what happens after that, but the awards themselves take place on Saturday March 3rd 2007 at The Alexander Hotel. If you plan on heading along (and you don’t have to be a blogger), let Damien know.

Already done missus. I won’t be there but am going to ask Damien if he plans on webcasting the event. He’s got nothing else to be doing.

Lol, cheeky git!

You’re going for the old “2 in a row” this year Sinéad (as opposed to last year’s…er…”one in a row”). Good luck with it. Should be a fun night anyway. I’ll be leading the Limerick posse up in a chartered helicopter which we’ll land (dramatically) in Merrion Square, lending the event a bit of Oscar glam.

Kav, thank you kindly, hope your pal The Seearing Lady makes it along. She deserves at least one gong and will give Twenty a run for his money.
Damien, cmon, we know that when you’re not at your full-time job, your law degree at night, organising the blog awards or the other techie bits and bobs that you sit around doing nothing.
Fustar, my arts comrade-in-arms! Where’ve you been all year, apart from getting hitched? I hope there aren’t too many instances of ‘two in a row’ wins at the awards. It’d be nice to see different blogs being recognised, and these things get boring if the same folk win all the time.

No, I now play on my Nintendo Wii to fill in those long blank periods.
Better form deffo on way in the next day or two. Even with the current form people are spamming blogs for each of the 21 categories. Very disappointing.

I’ve just been in that happy state of “being married”. Very pleasant it is I must say. After various interruptions caused by all that wedding business and broadband difficulties I finally got back into the regular blogging scene in December (still popped in here every day though, just had no time to comment!).
I’ve a funky new design too (courtesy of the wife). Ch-Ch-Check it out. I’m aiming at the “Youf” market.

P.S: I notice I’ve been relegated from the blog roll…sniff…

Duly amended, the blogroll tends to reflect daily reads so when you weren’t posting for most of last year, I figured you’d left us for good.

“I figured you’d left us for good”
Not a bit of it. Sure amn’t I like the proverbial bad penny?

Hi Sinead, thanks for posting a reminder.
BTW - did you our any of your readers like George Harrison. I wrote a short bit on his Bangladesh concert from 1971…I know, I know, I’m an aging hippy!
