Patry Francis and The Liar’s Diary
Back in the days of Sigla Magazine, we received a series of very fine poems by a writer called Patry Francis. The poems, inspired by a stint working as a waitress, were some of the best poetry we ever published on the site. I’ve kept track of Patry’s writing via her excellent blog, which is full of astute observations and descriptive nuggets of wisdom. So I’m delighted to extend big, big congratulations to Patry, as her book The Liar’s Diary is finally published by Dutton books. This month she faces the whole scary prospect of embarking on public readings. No better woman!
Patry’s excellent blog about writing, which details her journey from aspiring scribe to published author is called Simply Wait. Also check out Waitress Poems.

You’re most welcome, Ms publishing superstar. Hope the book tour stuff is not too unnerving…
