Musical titbits to be thankful for
*Praise be, That Petrol Emotion are jumping on the reunion bandwagon, which is absolutely fine by me. Via Jim.
*The video for Bjork’s new single ‘Declare Independence’ airs exclusively on Channel 4 at midnight tonight.
*Sick of those pesky end of year lists already? Sod off 2007, hello 2008 and two albums to watch out for in January: the rather lovely Lightspeed Champion record on Domino (check out ‘Midnight Surprise’ on their myspace page) and a new Disco Not Disco compilation (which heralds the return of the fantastic, once-defunct Strut Records). The third DND installment - Disco Not Disco - Post Punk, Electro & Leftfield Disco Classics 1974-1986 features classics like ‘My Spine is the Bassline’ by Shriekback and Vivien Goldman’s ‘Launderette’.
*Ok, so it’s comedy but they sing songs, so it counts. The Mighty Boosh are headed this way (thanks Martin). Noel Fielding will be in Dublin. Be still my fluttery heart.
