Claire Keegan’s Antarctica

Speaking of short stories, the Independent’s run of books by women continues and today’s choice is definitely one to pick up. Antarctica by Claire Keegan has been recommended to me by various people and I’ve really liked other short stories I’ve read by her.

It’s yours for €4.99 with a copy of today’s Irish Independent.

Ah no, do they still have these after the Saturday or is it too late now?? I did quite like Walk the Blue Fields, in what was imho, a very lean year for fiction

Medbh, do try and pick it up, she’s a rarity: a small, but robust handful of young Irish women who are writing quality stuff. And TGWAOF, most shops I’ve been in have the books from the last two weeks so you should be ok. My local had a few so let me know if you don’t manage to get it.
