Hell is…
…sitting in a cinema wearing funny glasses watching a U2 gig in 3D for 85 minutes. I’ll never get that time back you know.

If that’s the Dundrum screening I was there. Trying to prop my eyes open by marvelling at just how tiny Bono really is and wondering if they were orthopaedic shoes he was wearing.

Katherine, if you’re a fan you’d love it. If you’re not, it’s painful.
Didfor, I did notice the shoes. Funny that. Their whole set up is so massive though, that anyone looks a bit on the wee side.

I’m really looking forward to seeing “The Orphanage” during the Festival.
Definitely the most anticipated one for me, although U2 3D is a close second.

When’s Phil Collins3D coming out?

Pedro, I’ve just had to pick myself up off the floor on discovering you’re a U2 fan. Never saw that one coming…
Chancer, I’d love to see Kiss 3D or Motley Crue 3D. Big hair jumping out of the screen at you. Imagine Gene Simmons tongue? Yikes.

I think I would have more fun bursting my own ear-drums than listening to Bono’s whiney vocals.

Oh God, that sounds horrendous. My deepest sympathies.

For the love of crimeny…why, girl, why?
(OK, I know it’s for professional reasons, but still)

Sitting in a cinema wearing funny glasses, watching Bono on the screen wearing funny glasses.

Sounds delightful…

Does this mean when they tour the new album it’ll be in 3d too?? I don’t think I could tae Bono being in my face for two hours..

Hell is wearing funny glasses and being in U2.

You *really* should have known better, Sinead
February 5th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
I didn’t know that you were a glutton for punishment, Sinead.
Sounds painful.

Hell is watching U2 in 3D? Why did you go then? I’m sure no one forced you to go.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Medbh and Quint. I HAD to go, it was for an upcoming review. It’s a panel, and that’s one of the things up for discussion, alas.

Fair Nuff! I have a very complex love/hate relationship with U2..love that the world’s biggest rock band come from this tiny island of 4 million people…utterly detest all the music they’ve come up with since ‘Achtung Baby’…they make me proud to be Irish but Bono infuriates me…as I said-complex! But really looking forward to seeing U2 3D, more for the visual technology on display rather than seeing U2, to be honest.
