Irish Blog Awards shortlists - Mucho thanks
The Sigla Blog is delighted to have made two shortlists in this year’s Irish Blog Awards. First up is Best Post, but this category is due another cull and there are too many fantastic posts up for it, including the jaw-dropping brilliance of Fatmammycat’s Fox hunting, horses and a girl’s awakening (go read it). The other nomination is for Best Arts and Culture blog. David is wondering if the blog can pull an early 90’s style Eurovision coup and win three years in a row, while Eddie, fellow shortlister of the very fine No Clarity thinks I’m Angelina Jolie to his Jonny Lee Miller. Very surprised to see the wonderful Fústar not on the shortlist this year. Speaking of which, Dreadful Thoughts Part 2 continues over on his blog, with the king of spookiness, M.R. James.
Thanks to Damien for being the Blog Big Cheese and organising the whole thing, and to Poetry Ireland and Louder Voice for sponsoring the categories.
Best of luck to all those long-listed, shortlisted or planning to come along on the night out to see if we’re not just a big bunch of geeks. Well not really…

Congrats on the nominations! Hat trick on the way? I think that’s a football term, but good luck for the triple win nonetheless
