Kraftwerk’s Wolfgang Flur: Competition

wolfgangFurther to UnValentine’s Day, Great Loves and doing something different on February 14th, here’s a plan: go and see two electronic legends instead. Former Kraftwerk robot Wolfgang Flur plays the Tivoli on Thursday night. Flur was a member of the German electronic pioneers for nearly 25 years and now DJs regularly around the world. He has also collaborated with Mouse on Mars, Pizzicato 5 and most recently with German band Dyko.

Also on the bill is Dave Ball of Soft Cell (massive hero band for me in my teens) who now plays with The Grid. Yes, we all remember ‘Swamp Thing’, but they also remixed Brian Eno, David Bowie and Depeche Mode.

Tickets cost 17.50 and doors are 10pm but I have a pair of tickets to give away. If you’d like them, just answer the following question and leave your name in the comments. If you’re really shy, just mail me at sineadATsineadgleesonDOTcom.

Q: Name one other member of Kraftwerk

I’ll get Disco Fred to pick a winner out of bone-shaped hat on Thursday.

Update: And the winner is Morgan. Enjoy!

Wolfgang said he’d call me and then he didn’t. Happy Valentine’s day to me wha?

  3. Sinead Says:

Coffey, is that your answer? :) Valentine’s day is a load of pants. Probably black silk ones, but pants nonetheless…

  4. Chas Says:

    Ralf Hutter

  5. Edel Coffey Says:

No! I was going to say Ralf Hutter but then Chas did. :)

  6. Liam Mulkeen Says:

Please God let it be one of these Ralf Hütter (note the correct ‘ü’ in spelling) , Henning Schmitz, Fritz Hilpert, Florian Schneider.

  7. jimkennedy Says:

Hmmm, easiest competition ever, given that others have gone before me. Not that I didn’t know the answer anyway. I’ll go with Florian Schneider.

Do I lessen my likelihood of winning if I say that being in Soft Cell hardly makes one an electronic legend?

    *ducks for cover*

Would love to see them but have the results-of-imposed-Valentines-days-past to mind at home instead:-(
