Sydney Pollack R.I.P.

pollackWeirdly, I only watched Michael Clayton last night (liked it a lot), and today it was announced that Sydney Pollack had died. He directed a lot of well-known films (Tootsie, The Way We Were), but was also very good actor - I really liked him in Woody Allen’s Husbands and Wives. He was in the middle of co-producing the screen version of Bernard Schlink’s The Reader when he died.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing the film version of The Reader for a while. The chance to get a final glimpse at SP’s vision makes me even more curious.
