‘Yellow’, an essay written and read by Sinéad for BBC Radio 4‘s Viewfinders series, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of John Berger’s Ways of Seeing. This essay looks at the durational artwork, ‘Yellow’ (2008) by Irish performance artist, Amanda Cooganin the context of Berger’s book, exploring colour, time, religious concepts of the cleansing of sins and ablution, the repetition and hardship of labour in Magdalene laundries, and echoes Silvia Federici’s Wages Against Housework ideas. ‘Your Chroma’, an essay originally published in Gorse, turned into a sound performance with composer Stephen Shannon. This was performed as part of the Los Gatos Writers Festival in California and at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin.
